Celebrating the Art of Italian Coachbuilding

Bovensiepen Debuts at FuoriConcorso with Striking Zagato Collaboration

The name Bovensiepen may carry weight among automotive insiders, but with its official brand launch at FuoriConcorso this week, it’s stepping firmly into the global spotlight. Debuting with a bold statement of intent, the newly minted marque unveiled its first model: the Bovensiepen Zagato, a handcrafted Gran Turismo that fuses German precision with Italian artistry.

The Bovensiepen name, long associated with engineering mastery, now heralds an entirely new era — not just as a continuation of its legacy, but as a refined evolution. This transformation is marked by a partnership with legendary Milanese design house Zagato, whose coachbuilding heritage stretches back more than a century. Together, they have crafted a GT car that reflects both engineering prowess and sculptural elegance.

“Our goal is to build cars for connoisseurs and enthusiasts who appreciate the perfect symbiosis of design and technology,” said Andreas Bovensiepen, CEO of Bovensiepen Automobiles. “With the Bovensiepen Zagato, we are creating more than a car — we are offering a new standard in contemporary grand touring.”

The car’s design language unmistakably bears the signature of Zagato Chief Designer Norihiko Harada, who describes the collaboration as “a kind of blend of Italian charm, sensual and soft design, with a very solid, almost architectural German structure… a beautiful fusion of two automotive cultures.”

Key design features include a long sculpted bonnet, the iconic Double Bubble roof, frameless retractable windows, and an integrated rear spoiler — all underscored by a stainless steel front grille and aerodynamic detailing. The result is a vehicle with flowing proportions and undeniable presence, marrying technical functionality with visual drama.

Andrea Michele Zagato, President of Zagato, noted the symbolic importance of this collaboration: “Designing the first car for a newly born marque is a tradition we are proud to continue. This project with the Bovensiepen family is particularly special, as it continues the legacy of blending Zagato DNA with that of a new and inspiring brand.”

True to the traditions of both partners, the Bovensiepen Zagato is more than an aesthetic object — it’s a bespoke creation requiring over 250 hours of labor and over 400 custom components. Every element is handcrafted by skilled artisans, and the car proudly wears the patronymic badge, a Zagato hallmark since the 1920s that has graced icons from Alfa Romeo to Rolls-Royce.

While technical specifications remain under wraps, anticipation is already building. First customer deliveries are scheduled for Q2 2026, marking the beginning of what Bovensiepen and Zagato hope will be a long and storied partnership.

With its blend of Bavarian engineering and Milanese soul, the Bovensiepen Zagato is more than a car — it’s a manifesto for a new age of grand touring.
