Abarth 1000 Spider
The Abarth 1000 Spider Speciale was a concept car introduced by Pininfarina at the Turin Motor Show in November 1964.
Vehicle Overview
The Abarth 1000 Spider: Although it was bassed on the Fiat 850, (with the power of the rear engine increased to 54 hp) Pininfarina presented it at the 1964 Turin Auto Salon as pure styling exercise with no production prospects: The cabin was surrounded by a long wrap around glas strip, the nose, along with the head lights, were covered by a single glass element, which, although it looked modern and attractive, made it vulnerable to the slightest collision. No weather protection was provided. The Coupé version was unveiled in 1965.
