Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Spider

Chassis

#AR10503-00002

The Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Spider by Bertone.

Vehicle Overview

This Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Spider never went into production. The cabriolet version of the Giulia was born when the Spider has reached the end of its career. To replace it, a version derived from the Giulia GT was initially proposed, designed by Giugiaro for Bertone. The design was essentially identical to the coupe but the chassis was shortened. The prototype, set up in 1962, was developed in 1963 by the Alfa Romeo Style Center to experiment with possible alternative solutions for the nose and tail, based on a design by Ernesto Cattoni. The Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Spider project, however, did not followed, with the arrival of the Pininfarina Duetto with much more streamlined and modern lines.
