Vehicle Overview

The Dual-Ghia Firebomb: After the Chrysler Corporation decided not to proceed with the production of the Dodge Firearrow concept car, Gene Casaroll, a Detroit industrialist and entrepreneur, acquired the design and production rights from Chrysler through his Dual Motors Company. The resulting vehicle, the Dual-Ghia Firebomb, is capable of accommodating four adult passengers and features a full folding top with a glass back window and glass side windows. The Firebomb served as the prototype for the limited production Chrysler-powered Dual-Ghia, which was unveiled to Detroit’s automotive press corps on June 28, 1955, at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club located north of Detroit. A total of 104 Dual-Ghias were manufactured between 1956 and 1958, including two coupes with fiberglass hardtops. The price of the Dual-Ghia convertible was $7,646. The Dual-Ghia, named for Casaroll’s Dual Motors and Italy’s Ghia Coachbuilder, became a status symbol among Hollywood’s elite, with notable owners such as Frank Sinatra, Debbie Reynolds, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr.
