Fiat 128 Coupe Bertone

At the 1969 Turin Motor Show Bertone presented a design for a four-seater coupé with Fiat 128 mechanics. The prototype was the precursor to a formula that many manufacturers were later to adopt, namely the spacious people-carrier.

Vehicle Overview

The short, very sloping bonnet, the large greenhouse with its ample window surfaces and the short, compact tail all serve to enhance the car’s spaciousness. Unveiled among the Autobianchi Runabout, at the 1969 Turin Auto Show, the 128 Coupé featured rather modern lines which influenced many 4/5-seaters in the following years. Due to the 1969 stikes which happened in Italy, the Fiat 128 Coupè was built by Silvercar based in Caramagna, a usual supplier of Carrozzeria Bertone.
