Fiat 130 Opera
Visitors of the Paris Motor Show in 1974 attributed to the one-off proposal Fiat 130 Opera, presented by Pininfarina, the “palm” of the most elegant car of the motor show.
Vehicle Overview
The Fiat 130 Opera was sedan designed by Paolo Martin at Pininfarina with the look of the coupé, but with four doors and a slightly higher roof; these were the ingredients of the sedan that would have replaced the obsolete 130 sedan from 1969. It was exhibited by Pininfarina at the 1974 Paris and Turin Motor Shows. Unfortunately Fiat did not want to perceive the Pininfarina’s proposal to mass produce the car and the Fiat 130 Opera remained only a one-off styling concept. Same happened to a similar project: The Lancia Gamma Scala which was also born from a Pininfarina idea which wanted to replace the series sedan model with its Coupé based model.
