At the XXXVII Turin Auto Salon, the spotlight was heavily on custom and special edition versions of the Fiat 600, showcased by numerous coachbuilders. These elaborately modified Fiats commanded prices around 750,000 Lire, reflecting their exclusive and bespoke nature. Among the highlights of the event was the debut of the Pirelli “Rolle” tire, specifically engineered for Fiat’s new 600 model, underlining the innovation and specialization within automotive components at the time.

In addition to the Fiat 600 variants, the show featured several other significant presentations. These included the Abarth 207A Spyder and the Abarth 750 Zagato, both renowned for their performance enhancements and distinctive designs. The Alfa Romeo BAT 9 concept car, with its futuristic and aerodynamic styling, captivated attendees with its avant-garde approach to automotive design. Alongside these icons, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and the Lancia Florida I made their mark, each representing the pinnacle of their respective brands’ engineering and design prowess during the 1950s.

The XXXVII Turin Auto Salon thus served not only as a platform for showcasing custom Fiat 600 creations but also as a stage for unveiling cutting-edge automotive technology and design innovation across various marques, cementing its significance in the history of automotive exhibitions.
