Pininfarina, Stabilimenti Farina and Viotti produced respectively Cabriolet, Coupé and Giardinetta (Station Wagon) - in limited editions - which Lancia has included in its official sales list. Cabriolets and Coupes are built on the B50 chassis, while the Viotti Stationwagons were built on the B51. At the end, the Coupés of Stabilimenti Farina were very few, while the production of Cabriolets and Giardinettes reaches more significant quantities.

The 1500 was presented at the Milan Motor Show in 1935. The engine was conceptually a “Balilla” with two extra cylinders to give it a total power of almost 1500 cc. Such scarce power on a 6-cylinder engine was almost a record. Carrozzeria Bertone was the first to make personal touches to the new Fiat model and, as far back as 1936, it introduced some saloons that further enhanced the aerodynamic lines of the custom-built vehicle. The body of this car which belongs to the Museo Nicolis was designed by Mario Revelli di Beaumont towards the end of the second world war and built by Bertone in 1945 on a 1941 frame. The design of the bodywork proves how much research went into new styles and aerodynamics. The sharper inclination of the windscreen, the front bumpers connected to the back ones, almost like a preview of the future “pontoon” bodyworks, i.e. with no continuity solution from front to back, the lack of a footboard, the receding lines of the tail. The radiator cowling is characteristic, with its central shield and two side whiskers that look like the typical front of the Alfa Romeo.

In 1949 Moretti launched the new 600. This was a relatively conventional car with a front mounted 592cc water-cooled four-cylinder engine driving the rear wheels. The chassis remained from square-section steel tube whilst the wheelbase was up to 2000mm and the weight now 510kg. It was available as a 4-seat saloon, a 2-seat coupe and a spider which won the coppa d’oro at the Concorso d’Eleganza di Stresa in 1950.

The present car, Tipo 233C chassis number 33-5313, is one of 328 Corto versions produced on the short-wheelbase 122-inch platform. Fitted with engine number 91-1171, it was delivered as a bare chassis to Pinin Farina in the summer of 1936 and clothed in a body designed by Mario Revelli di Beaumont, who took full advantage of the narrow-angle V-8 to create a rakish yet restrained cabriolet design, dubbed the Tipo Bocca. It was commissioned a Lancia dealer in Biella who ultimately ordered a total of six Bocca cabriolets in both corto and lungo chassis.

First sold to Giuseppe Santi in Rome, this car is one of four similar Cabriolets built by Vignale from a total of seventy-nine 212 Inters built during the aforementioned years. Vignale designed and built cars for Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia and many others. For the design he often relied on his friend and former colleague at Farina, Giovanni Michelotti. The 212 models feature the traditional 60-degree V12 engine based on the famous Colombo design.

Presented as a one-off at the Turin Motor Show in 1960, the “Praho” is a prototype for a hypothetical Alfa Romeo luxury coupe, built on the first chassis of the new 2000 Sprint. After the show, the prototype remained in the Touring warehouses until the closure of the business, when it was sold to the Minetti dealership in Milan. After forty years it was bought by a Singapore collector and in 2010 it returned to Italy, where it was repainted to the original dark green color. The name of the prototype is inspired by Malaysian ships with concave tail, such as the characteristic rear window of this car, while inside the avant-garde solution of the central dashboard, clearly aeronautical inspiration, is adopted.

Among the most beautiful, dramatic, and certainly unusual bodies on the 8V chassis was the Demon Rouge, a unique show car designed by Giovanni Michelotti and built by Vignale. It was one of only five coupe bodies produced by Vignale for the 8V. The Demon Rouge made its debut at the 1953 Turin Motor Show, where its aggressiveness was very well received. Vignale took notice, and Michelotti followed up with a subtler variation on the same theme, this car, constructed on 8V chassis no. 106.000080.
