Vehicle Overview
The Ferrari 166 Spider Bertone was one of the prototypes and was a very understated, harmonious two-seater cabriolet built on a 2 litre Ferrari base: one of the most successful classic sports cars, and one of the few Ferrari chassis to receive Bertone bodywork. Designed by Giovanni Michelotti and unveiled at the 1951 Turin Auto Salon, the Ferrari 166 Spider Bertone is an extremely elegant interpretation of the stylistic motifs of the period, with its sober-looking horizontal radiator grille, long nose, smooth wings and weight concentrated towards the rear of the car. The interiors also reveal the care that has gone into the aesthetics and functionality of every separate element.
