The Alfa Romeo 1900C Sprint Supergioiello: The 1953 Turin Auto Salon witnessed the unveiling of a remarkable automobile, the Alfa Romeo 1900 SS Ghia Coupe. This exquisite vehicle, meticulously crafted by Ghia, captivated audiences not only at the Turin Auto Salon but also at numerous other prestigious auto shows across Europe, including the concours d’elegance in Rome, Campione d’Italia and San Remo. Its impeccable design garnered accolades and recognition, solidifying its status as one of Ghia’s prized show cars. Chassis 01549, was built in 1954 and delivered new to Gumersindo Garcia Fernandez of Spain, who is believed to have registered with the Real Automóvil Club de España. Mr Fernandez was an enthusiastic driver and competed in the car at many events that year, including the first Rally de los Pirineos. The Alfa Romeo 1900C Sprint Supergioiello highlight was a 1st in class victory at the Subida a la Dehsa de la Villa held on 21 November.
