Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Cabriolet Pininfarina
This two-seater cabriolet built on the prestigious Alfa Romeo 6 cylinder 1750 Super Sport chassis was one of Pinin Farina’s first achievements in “his” new corso Trapani works.
Vehicle Overview
In spite of the traditional styling layout, there were glimpses of the germs of the “different”, unconventional ideas that Pinin was working out, as well as references to that vocation for the sports car that would never leave him. For example, the slightly inclined radiator and windscreen, the protection net on the radiator and headlights, and the new form of inset running-board which helped to trim down the mudguard joining line. The structure of the body was made of wood (steel frames started to be talked about in the motorcar industry only towards the end of the decade) lined with plate and bolted to the main frame longitudinals. This cabriolet already hinted at a new conception of bodywork which in a short time was to lead to a crisis in traditional motorcar canons.
