Vehicle Overview
The Buick Lacrosse for the Chinese market. For the 2007 model year, the Chinese division of General Motors also introduced the Lacrosse in the Asian country. The model was placed, in the Buick range in China, just above the Regal, of which it constituted the somewhat more luxurious version. Designed in Italy by the I.DE.A Institute, under the direction of Jutyn Norek, this Chinese Buick Lacrosse is based on the same architecture as the North American model of the same name, but it has a different interior and styling, as well as a different range of engines. The model, produced in Shanghai, is also assembled in Taiwan. Offered only with a four-door sedan body, it is also based on General Motors’ W platform. The engine is front-mounted and drive is to the front. Two engines are offered for the chinese Buick Lacrosse. The choice is between a 2.4 L inline four-cylinder, and a 3 L V6. There are also two gearboxes available, both automatic (more precisely, four- or six-speed).
