The Cisitalia 202 SC Cabriolet was designed by Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina and bodied by Stabilimenti Farina and Vignale. The body was more or less handcrafted, with its aluminum panels shaped over wooden forms. Because of this time-consuming process, only 60 of the cabriolet version were build, this speciment wears the Vignale badge. Under the hood we find a 1,089 cc inline 4 cylinder engine which produces 63 hp.
The Cisitalia 202 is particularly important to automotive history both because it was the first car in the world to be permanently exhibited in a modern art museum, the MoMA in New York, and because it can be considered the first example of the postwar Italian-style granturismo.
