Ferrari 250 GT 2+2
The Ferrari 250 GT 2+2 by Pininfarina.
Vehicle Overview
The Ferrari 250 GT 2+2 was the first production series 2+2 Ferrari car; thanks to Pininfarina’s ability, it was possible to fit a 4-seat body on a 250 GT chassis without modifying the wheelbase. Only the total car length turned out to be 30,5 cm longer. The 250 GT 2+2 was developed in the wind tunnel, and has a very inclined windshield that perfectly fits with the roof, which has a horizontal style and grants enough comfortable space to the rear compartment passengers. The clean and linear style of the side, with no unnecessary ornaments, will be again used by Pininfarina on his other period creations. Started in 1953 with the Europe model and ended in 1964 with the last GT/L, the 250 series has been the more produced in the Ferrari history and the one that gave the biggest satisfaction to the manufacturer. For over ten years, the 12-cylinder 3-liter engine (named after the cubic capacity per cylinder which is 250) was used in competition all over the world in all its various evolutions and was fitted to cars whose names would always remain in the enthusiasts’ mind: 250 GT Tour de France, 250 Testarossa, 250 California, 250 GT Berlinetta Competition, 250 GTO and of course this Ferrari 250 GT 2+2 which can be admired at the Museo Nicolis.
