Ferrari 250 P5
Introduced at the 1968 Geneva Show, this Ferrari 250 P5 Berlinetta Speciale showcar was built as a collaboration between Ferrari and Pininfarina. It was constructed using a P4 chassis and has a mid-mounted V-12 engine displacing three liters.
Vehicle Overview
The Ferrari 250 P5 Berlinetta Speciale was a study by Pininfarina in aerodynamics, form and potential designs. The radical design of the car was not loved by everyone – but the car did carry a few design elements that would make their way into later day production vehicles. Most notably, this car has clear rear glass over the engine, much like many modern Ferraris do today. Pininfarina produced another very similar prototype badged as an Alfa Romeo. That car, the 33 Coupe Prototipo Speciale, was painted bright yellow and was introduced at the Paris Motor Show of 1969.
