Ferrari 456 GT Venice
The Ferrari 456 GT Venice: the Wagon version by Pininfarina.
Vehicle Overview
The Ferrari 456 GT Venice stands as a rare and luxurious deviation from the conventional sports car design, embodying exclusivity and opulence. Commissioned by Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei, this extraordinary series comprised seven 5-door wagons, or estates, derived from the acclaimed Ferrari 456 GT, originally designed by Pietro Camardella. Pininfarina, the renowned Italian design house and coachbuilder, brought Prince Jefri’s vision to life by crafting these bespoke masterpieces. The result was a fusion of performance and practicality, combining the sleek aesthetics of a Ferrari with the functionality of a wagon. The design retained the essence of the 456 GT while seamlessly incorporating the extended body to accommodate the additional doors, creating a harmonious blend of sportiness and utility. Surprisingly, the prince opted to acquire only six out of the seven commissioned vehicles. The remaining masterpiece found its way into the hands of a private car collector in the United Kingdom, adding an extra layer of mystique to an already exclusive collection. The price tag attached to each of these exceptional automobiles was rumored to be around an astounding US$1.5 million, underlining the unparalleled craftsmanship and individuality that went into their creation. It’s worth noting that beyond the wagon iteration, Pininfarina also ventured into crafting a Spider and Sedan version of the Ferrari 456 GT for the prince. This diversification showcases the versatility and adaptability of the original design, catering to the specific desires and preferences of the royal patron. The Ferrari 456 GT Venice, with its limited production and association with Brunei royalty, remains a symbol of automotive rarity, blending performance, luxury, and bespoke design in a truly unique manner.
