The Fiat 1500 Cabriolet Pininfarina (tipo 118G) was a stylish two-door, two-passenger convertible, featuring a front-engine, rear-drive layout. This elegant vehicle was manufactured by Pininfarina and marketed by Fiat, spanning two generations from 1959 to 1963 and 1964 to 1966. It served as the successor to the Fiat 1200 Spyder, offering enhanced design and performance. By the end of its production run in 1966, the Fiat 1500 Cabriolet had achieved a total production number of 34,211 units. Among these, the sportier versions—1500 S and 1600 S—were particularly notable. These variants were equipped with high-performance twin-cam engines built by OSCA (Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili), and their production totaled 3,089 units. These sport versions were celebrated for their enhanced driving dynamics and added power, making them highly desirable among car enthusiasts. The Fiat 1500 Cabriolet Pininfarina was ultimately replaced by the Fiat 124 Sport Spider in 1966. The 124 Sport Spider continued Fiat’s legacy of producing attractive and capable convertibles, but the Pininfarina Cabriolet remains a classic, celebrated for its design, performance, and contribution to Fiat’s rich automotive history.
