The Fiat 600 Record Sperimentale – an impressive record car, exhibited at the 1962 Turin Motor Show by Carrozzeria Vignale. The car was based on a Fiat 600D chassis with an engine increased to 1000 cm3 (41.5 hp). The one-volume body showed amazing aerodynamic shapes, a huge drop-shaped windshield tested in wind tunnel. The prototype was reintroduced the following year by Vignale, which merely modified the aerodynamics a little. Especially the new wheel cover gives the car a sleeker look.
