Fiat 600 Maggiolina

The Fiat 600 Maggiolina: the cabriolet built by Francis Lombardi.

Vehicle Overview

The Fiat 600 Maggiolina: The Carrozzeria Francis Lombardi was founded in 1947 in Vercelli, Italy, by noted pilot Carlo “Francis” Lombardi. They originally engaged in some aeronautical design, but this soon ended. Their most famous car was the Lombardi Grand Prix, which was also marketed under a variety of other names such as O.T.A.S. and Abarth. Francis Lombardi made also several versions of the famous Fiat 600, one of the most interessting one is certainly this Fiat 600 Maggiolina (Cockchafer). Francis Lombardi was usual to give insect names to his creations like Lucciola (firefly), Coccinella (ladybug) and Libellula (dragonfly). This little beauty was presented in 1958 and was produced in a very limited edition.
