Study for an environmentally-friendly electric city car, realised in co-operation with the Fiat Research Centre. The ecological sensibility would become only later of wide interest.
The Fiat Ecos was presented at the Turin Motorshow 1978 by Pininfarina. The wheelbase was 2200mm. It was planned to be powered by a 26kW electric motor driving the front wheels. Twelve 6V batteries, each weighing 30kg, were to be installed.
The MAUTO – Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile di Torino today inaugurates the exhibition “La Forma del Futuro” (The Shape of the Future), an extraordinary exhibition that, with the contribution of 16 exceptional cars, narrates Pininfarina’s innate ability to envisage the future and give it form by staying ahead of the times and setting trends.
