A short history about the partnership between Pininfarina and Lancia, and the design evolution.
After unveiling the Lancia Florida I, in 1956, a year later, at the Geneva Motor Show, Pininfarina unveiled that what would become Battista’s personal car: the Lancia Florida II.
The Florida II was based on the Aurelia B56 platform, with a wheelbase of 2870 mm, the engine mounted was the 2266 cm3 V-6 cylinder, 87 horsepower at 4,800 rpm; while the power supply was entrusted to a double-barrel carburetor. The doors are a characteristic of the Florda II: there are actually three, the rear one, is located at the drivers side and opens against the wind and make the Pinin Farina prototype look like a coupé. A solution we will see again 55 years later on the Pininfarina Cambiano. The great Pinin Farina had made the Florida II his personal car.
