The Plymouth Explorer is a prototype built by the Italian coachbuilder Ghia. Designed by Giovanni Savonuzzi at Carrozzeria Ghia, it was lower and sleeker than any other Plymouth of the time with some influences from Ghia’s Supersonic series. It retained the flathead six-cylinder engine of its more prosaic stablemates.
