The Riich G6 designed by Bertone.
The Riich G6 is a full-size executive sedan developed by Chinese automaker Chery under its now-defunct premium sub-brand, Riich. Produced from 2010 to 2013, the G6 was conceived as part of Chery’s strategy to move upmarket by offering a luxury vehicle with global appeal. The model was positioned to compete in both domestic and international segments traditionally dominated by European and Japanese brands. The exterior design of the Riich G6 was created by the Italian design house Bertone, with Giuliano Biasio leading the project. The styling emphasized a conservative yet refined aesthetic, featuring a balanced profile, a wide front grille, understated chrome detailing, and a cohesive silhouette. The car measured 4,968 mm in length, 1,845 mm in width, 1,526 mm in height, and rode on a 2,820 mm wheelbase, placing it within the D-segment in terms of size. The G6 was built on a front-engine, front-wheel-drive platform co-developed with German engineering firm Benteler. The suspension system used a double-wishbone layout at the front and a multi-link configuration at the rear, engineered to provide a comfortable and composed ride suited for long-distance travel. Engine options included a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four delivering 170 horsepower and 235 Nm of torque, as well as a Mitsubishi-sourced 3.0-liter V6 producing 200 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. These were paired with either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Inside, the Riich G6 featured a well-appointed cabin with leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable and heated front seats, a touchscreen infotainment system with DVD and GPS functionality, and an eight-speaker audio setup. Safety equipment included multiple airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), and electronic stability control. A notable variant of the G6 was the Riich G6 Paramount, a limousine version unveiled in 2011, measuring over seven meters in length and configured for luxury executive transport. Despite its upscale features and international design input, the G6 saw limited success due to strong competition and the lack of brand recognition. The model was discontinued in 2013 following the closure of the Riich brand.
