Alfa Romeo RZ

Based on the platform of the excellent 3.0 V6 75 saloon, the Alfa Romeo SZ was introduced in 1989 as Alfa Romeo’s flagship 2-door GT by Zagato. It was not an immediate success, but customers praised its sincere handling and neutral behaviour, the spacious cockpit and luxurious interior. The RZ, the roadster variant of the SZ came in 1991 and it is even rarer than the SZ, being produced only in 278 examples.

Vehicle Overview

Production of the Alfa Romeo RZ Roadster version of the SZ (the Coupé) at Zagato began in 1992, a period in which, however, the limited series market was already going to decline, effectively decreeing a commercial failure. Even the power of the engine was now considered insufficient for a sports car of a certain level. All 278 cars produced are numbered with a special plate placed on the central tunnel near the gear lever
