ATS Wild Twelve

The ATS Wild Twelve designed by Torino Design.

Vehicle Overview

The ATS Wild Twelve was a hybrid supercar concept developed by Torino Design and publicly presented in 2015. Conceived as a limited-production vehicle, the project aimed to position itself within the contemporary high-performance segment while incorporating hybrid propulsion technologies and design elements reflective of early 21st-century Italian stylistic principles. The vehicle’s powertrain was composed of a mid-mounted, 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V12 internal combustion engine delivering power to the rear wheels, in combination with two electric motors assigned to the front axle. The system produced a combined output of approximately 860 horsepower and 920 newton-meters of torque. Power was transmitted via a nine-speed automatic gearbox, resulting in an all-wheel-drive configuration. Acceleration from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour was estimated at 2.6 seconds, with a projected top speed of 390 kilometers per hour. The hybrid system permitted a limited electric-only range, approximated at thirty kilometers, underscoring the model’s compliance with emergent demands for reduced-emissions motoring. The structural composition of the vehicle relied extensively on carbon fiber, contributing to a stated curb weight of 1,450 kilograms. The exterior design featured a low, wedge-like silhouette, with sculpted aerodynamic elements and an emphasis on visual continuity across body surfaces. The frontal treatment included pronounced intakes and angular lighting assemblies, while the rear integrated aerodynamic fins and a central exhaust outlet. The cabin was organized around the driver, with advanced digital interfaces and materials consistent with the performance-oriented nature of the vehicle. The project was announced with plans for a production series limited to thirty units, to be assembled at the former Bugatti facility in Campogalliano, Italy. However, the initiative failed to progress beyond the prototype stage, and no production examples were realized. The ATS Wild Twelve serves as an artifact of transitional design and engineering values within the high-performance automotive sector. It represents an attempt to reconcile traditional notions of internal combustion power with hybrid propulsion in a manner aligned with luxury and exclusivity. Its unrealized production situates it within a broader category of speculative supercars reflective of their cultural and technological moment.
