This Dkw 1000 is one of the very few built in Italy by the Fissore Coachbuilder. In 1921, Bernardo Fissore with his brother Antonio founded Carrozzeria Fissore, which was later joined by the younger brothers Giovanni and Costanzo. The 1000 Special is inspired by its shapes and rear tails to the most famous Ford Thunderbird, equipped with the super tested three-cylinder two-stroke 1000cc made by DKW and with a power of 37 kw, reached 130 km per hour and was equipped with a change at the flywheel with 4 gears + rear. It was first presented at the 1959 Turin motor show in coupé and cabriolet versions. Very few specimens were produced between 1959 and 1964 were distributed by Motoauto SpA of Bologna, the Italian importer of DKW. There are no precise data on the specimens produced but it is believed to have been made just over a hundred. After this phase Fissore ceded the manufacturing license to Industria Automotriz Santa Fé SA Argentina which built 701 specimens of the first series and 226 of the second.
