Vehicle Overview
The Ferrari 575M Maranello is a Grand Tourer presented in 2002 by the Maranello-based automaker. The “575M” designation derives from its 5.75-liter engine capacity and the letter “M,” which stands for “modificata” or modified. This sports car is powered by a 515 hp (379 kW) V12 engine at 7,250 rpm and has a maximum torque of 588.6 Nm at 5,250 rpm, with an average increase of 1.5 kgm between 1,000 and 4,000 rpm compared to the engine previously installed on the Ferrari 550 Maranello. The same engine was also fitted to the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. The Ferrari 575M Maranello ‘s performance includes exceeding 300 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. It was the first 12-cylinder Ferrari to feature a Formula 1-style gearbox. At launch, the model was priced at €196,000 for the manual transmission version and €204,000 for the F1 electro-actuated six-speed transmission version. In 2006, it was succeeded by the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 250 model range, Japanese collector Yoshiyuki Hayashi commissioned Zagato to create a one-off based on the 575M, inspired by the 250 GTZ. With Ferrari’s support, Zagato completed the project, featuring its characteristic double-bubble roof, and unveiled it at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006. In 2005, the 575 Superamerica version was introduced, limited to 559 units. This version featured an engine boosted to 540 hp and was designed as a targa with a rigid roof by Leonardo Fioravanti. Upon request, the roof could be made of thermal glass with self-adjusting dimming based on sunlight and equipped with electrochromic panels capable of maintaining the pre-set temperature inside the cabin.
