The Ferrari 612 GTS Pavesi was a one-off, coachbuilt variant of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, created in 2010 by Carrozzeria Pavesi, a Milan-based specialist known for its custom reinterpretations of production automobiles. The project reflected a continuation of the Italian carrozzeria tradition, wherein independently operated coachbuilders reimagined series models to satisfy individualized aesthetic or functional criteria. The vehicle was based upon the standard Ferrari 612 Scaglietti platform, a grand tourer introduced by Ferrari in 2004 and configured with a front-mid-mounted, naturally aspirated V12 engine. Displacing 5.7 liters, the engine produced an increased output of approximately 550 horsepower in the Pavesi version, with torque measured at 600 newton-meters. The powertrain retained Ferrari’s six-speed automated manual transmission, operated via paddle shifters, and the rear-wheel-drive configuration characteristic of the 612 model line. A custom Tubi-style exhaust system was fitted, contributing to modified engine acoustics and performance response. The principal structural alteration executed by Pavesi was the integration of a manually removable carbon-fiber roof system. The fixed coupé configuration of the base vehicle was transformed into a targa-style arrangement, with the roof panels designed to be stowed by hand. This modification echoed Pavesi’s earlier conversions of Ferrari and other high-performance models, notably the Ferrari 400i Spider and De Tomaso Pantera Targa, reflecting the firm’s established typology of partial open-air body formats. The exterior was distinguished by a two-tone paint scheme in silver and black, with revisions to the bumpers, side skirts, and rear valence. The wheels were replaced with BBS units identical to those used on the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. These visual distinctions, while restrained, established a recognizably differentiated identity for the vehicle. The cabin was similarly individualized, featuring bespoke upholstery, specific stitching patterns, and minor revisions to surface finishes. No fundamental changes to dashboard architecture or instrumentation were recorded. Produced as a singular example, the Ferrari 612 GTS Pavesi remains an isolated expression of late coachbuilt practice within the Ferrari lineage. It reflects a moment in which artisanal design intervention continued to exist in parallel with increasingly standardized high-performance manufacturing.
