The Fiat 600 Monterosa is the customized version by the small coachbuilder from Turin. This variant, priced 705.000 Lire (ca. 26.500€) featured several modifications aimed at enhancing both the exterior and interior aesthetics. The Fiat 600 Monterosa was distinguished by its two-tone nitrocellulose paint finish applied to the exterior and the dashboard. A chrome strip elegantly separated the two colors, enhancing the car’s visual appeal. The Monterosa also included chrome rain gutters, a chrome front grille, chrome moldings along the sides, a rear hood support rod, a rear hood handle with a key lock, and two chrome trim pieces on the side windows. Additionally, it featured visors on the headlights and new side turn signals. This customization package aimed to give the 600 Monterosa a refined and stylish appearance, making it stand out as a unique and attractive option in the Fiat 600 lineup.
The Fiat 600 was undoubtedly the car that accompanied Italy through the economic boom. When it was presented it was very popular thanks to its modern lines, the brilliant engine and a cockpit large enough to fit the whole family. The demand for the 600 was so high that Fiat was unable to meet the waiting times, so that many relied on the coachbuilders in order to get its small family car sooner, even at the cost of a higher price.
