The Fiat Barchetta Trofeo: In 1996, Carrozzeria Maggiora proposed a very special variant of the Fiat Barchetta. At the time, Fiat is planning to establish a one-make trophy to race its models. From Moncalieri they seize the ball and propose the Fiat Barchetta Trofeo. The changes are obvious, starting with the exterior appearance. In fact, the car has an aerodynamic kit developed specifically for it: just look at the small rear wing. Not to mention some body components made of carbon fiber so as to lighten the overall weight. Blue inserts, the “Trofeo” badge, stickers with collaborating brands and the race number on the side stood out, as did the Sparco seats. Also changing was the engine power, which rose from 130 to 160 horsepower. Of this Barchetta Trofeo, however, only a prototype remained. In fact, the project was put aside when Fiat decided not to start that one-make championship.
