The Lancia Astura Coupé Castagna: In August 1935 the car started at the 24 hours of Pescara and only five weeks later it showed up at the Concorso d’Eleganza of Lago di Como. A year and a half after its registration, this Lancia Astura received its aerodynamic body as a gift from Carrozzeria Castagna Milano, an adaptation for racing that was implemented at the request of Vittorio, son of Benito Mussolini (edit. : According to several sources this story is fake and the car isn’t related to anyone from Mussolini’s family). Probably at the same time the Lancia Astura Coupé Castagna was fitted with the three-liter 82 hp V8 engine from the Astura Series III, instead of the previous 2.6-liter 8-cylinder.
