The Lancia Aurelia B52 B Junior was designed by Gian Paolo Boano, son of Mario Boano, at Ghia and was probably his first project ever. The finished car was presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1953. In the 1950s, coachbuilders slowly moved away from producing individual cars. During the production of the Aurelia model, Lancia produced only 98 chassis for coachbuilders. These chassis were designated B52, most of them went to the Pininfarina studio, but a few copies also went to other companies such as Vignale or Ghia. Carrozzeria Ghia has probably produced only two Aurelia B52 B Junior with chassis numbers 1055 and 1061. They were powered by 1991 cc six-cylinder V-engines and, like the other Aurelia’s, had rear-wheel drive. Ghia used the same body also on the Fiat 1400 and 1900 chassis.
