Monteverdi Sierra Cabriolet
At the Geneva Motor Show in 1978, Monteverdi introduced a convertible version of the Sierra based on the shortened chassis of the Dodge Aspen Coupé.
Vehicle Overview
The Monteverdi Sierra Cabriolet sale price was set at CHF 89,000, and although there were no four-seater luxury convertibles and therefore no direct competition besides the much more expensive Rolls-Royce Corniche, the expected success was not achieved and only two copies were completed by Carrozzeria Fissore. A red painted vehicle was delivered to the Swiss publisher Frey, another one in silver color remained in the factory. Both vehicles still exist: the silver-colored convertible is now in the Monteverdi Museum in Binningen; the red car was sold in 2006.
