Monteverdi – Sierra Stationwagon
.
Vehicle Overview
The Sierra Station Wagon from 1979 is a five-door station wagon based on the Dodge Aspen Station Wagon. The vehicle received the usual changes at the front end; The well-known bumpers and the rear lights of the Peugeot 504 Break were installed on the rear end, creating a family resemblance to the Safari. The vehicle picked up on the concept of the luxury station wagon that Mercedes-Benz implemented around the same time as the station wagon of the Mercedes-Benz W 123. However, Peter Monteverdi did not (yet) see a market for the Sierra Station Wagon, so it remained the one-of-a-kind that was approved in Ticino until the early 1980s and was regularly used in traffic. The car is in Monteverdi’s car museum today.
