Vehicle Overview
The Opel Diplomat CD was commssioned to italian coachbuilder Pietro Frua after the positive public response at the IAA of Frankfurt. It was a variant that was closer to series production built in fact in Turin, Italy. The result was the Opel Gran Turismo HS V8 coupé, sometimes also known as the Coupé Diplomat Frua or CD Frua. Unfortunately, serial production was also denied for this model, but the basic lines and many ideas were ultimately built a few hundred times in Germany with the Bitter CD. This prototype was exhibted at the 2021 Classic Gala Concours d’Elegance at Schwetzingen in Germany.
