Vehicle Overview

In 1965 Quattroruote took a further step forward and in collaboration with OSI, who handled the completion of the prototype’s material, and helped design another car, and this time a running car. The vehicle was a direct response to the need and requirement to provide a degree of safety to passengers, at least in comparison to the standards of the time. The Secura deliberately used the normal mechanical setup of the Fiat 1500C, just to reinforce their proactive industry. The car was displayed at the Turin Motor Show in 1965 and then went literally around the world, appearing in all the major automobile exhibitions for some years. Also in 1965, the automotive magazine (Quattroruote), sponsored a project by the engineer Piazzi, worked to create a prototype to be exhibited at the Turin Motor Show. The car was named the Bikini and was a very spartan open vehicle. It was constructed around the mechanics of the Fiat 500 station wagon, but modified to be front wheel drive.
