Developed as a design proposal for the new XJ model, the Jaguar B99 was built by Bertone for its 99th birthday. The GT versione was intended for GT2 racing.
The GT2 racing version of the Jaguar B99 by Bertone was called the Jaguar B99 GT and is 500 mm (19.7 in) wider than the standard car and is 100 mm (3.9 in) lower, while the interior is stripped out and fitted with a roll cage. The idea was to add an additional two electric motors giving it a four-wheel drive and a total power output of 972 bhp (725 kW; 985 PS) to the GT, but it remained only a not powered design concept.
The Jaguar B99, born out of the partnership between Bertone and Jaguar, emerges as one such extraordinary episode.
