Ferrari 410 S Berlinetta

Chassis

#0594CM

The Ferrari 410 S Berlinetta chassis 0594CM by Scaglietti.

Vehicle Overview

The Ferrari 410 S Berlinetta chassis 0594CM, built in 1955, is a rare and iconic example of Ferrari’s engineering prowess during the mid-1950s. With its body crafted by Scaglietti, the car is powered by a 4962cc V12 engine producing 340 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, featuring a single overhead camshaft configuration, a single spark plug per cylinder, and twin magnetos. The engine is fed by triple Weber 46 DCF-3 carburetors and is lubricated by a dry sump system, ensuring optimal performance. Coupled with a 5-speed rear-mounted gearbox and syncromesh transmission, the 410 S Berlinetta was built for both road and racing use, blending luxury with performance. The exterior of 0594CM was originally finished in ivory with a blue interior, providing an elegant contrast. Its first known owner was Michel Paul-Cavallier, a prominent French businessman, who was also the President of Pont-à-Mousson and a director of SEFAC. In 1964, the car passed to French racing driver and BMW dealer Hugues “Tutut” Hazard, who repainted it red before taking part in the 1965 Course de Cote de Belleau, where it was raced with the number 95. It then changed hands again in 1965 to Marc Nicolosi and later to Pierre Bardinon of Mas du Clos, a renowned Ferrari collector. Bardinon restored the car, repainting it red once more, and it was showcased in various prestigious events such as Retromobile and the Cartier ‘Hommage à Ferrari’ exhibition in Paris. In 2001, the car was acquired by Dutch collector John Bosch for $2 million. Bosch had the Ferrari restored by Terry Hoyle, returning it to its original ivory/blue color scheme. It was then raced in the Mille Miglia in 2002 and displayed at the Modena Motorsport Meeting in 2002. The car continued to change ownership over the years, with Jonathan Hunt of the UK being the most recent owner. 0594 CM has been displayed at the 2009 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, where it received the Honor of Mention in its class. The Ferrari 410 S Berlinetta 0594CM made a significant appearance at RM Auctions in Monterey in August 2017, where it sold for an impressive $8.25 million, underlining its status as a highly coveted and valuable piece of Ferrari history.
