The Fiat Cinquecento concept cars
At the 1992 Turin Motor Show, Fiat unveiled a series of concept cars designed by famous Italian coachbuilders to celebrate the arrival of the small Cinquecento on the market.
The Fiat Cinquecento Birba was built by Maggiora in limited series production. The concept was unveiled at the 1992 Turin Motor Show.
The Fiat Cinquecento Birba production version derives from the homonymous prototype presented in 1992. It has a roll-bar for homologation and safety reasons. Built on May 1994 in Chiavasso (TO) by the Carrozzeria Maggiora which was in charge of the production of the Delta Evo Kat, the Lancia K Coupé, Fiat Barchetta and a lot of prototypes for Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Fiat. This one-off was exhibited at the Turin Auto Salon in 1994. The production costs in 1994 were 80.000€ of todays money. Chassis was completely reiforced. Engine is a 900cc. The roof is manual.
