The story of Touring Superleggera
The early years In early 1926, two lawyers from Milan – Felice Bianchi Anderloni and Gaetano Ponzoni – decided to leave behind the world…
After the Second World War, Isotta Fraschini attempts a return to automotive production with the 8C Monterosa, heir to the pre-war Tipo 8. The new model is presented in 1947 and is distinguished by the unusual design with a cantilevered rear engine. Between 1947 and 1949 5 prototypes are completed, with bodies made by Zagato, Touring and Boneschi, but the model is too expensive and will never go into production.
Two Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8C Monterosa were built by Carrozzeria Touring, a two and this four door sedan. The first was presented in 1947 at the Paris Motor Show and at the 1947 Carrozzeria Exhibition in Milan and then kept by Isotta Fraschini until it became part of the Lopresto Collection together with the only other existing model with Boneschi bodywork. This 4 door sedan was unveiled at the 1949 Geneva Motor Show.
